Thalia dealbataThalia dealbata foliage

Evergreen, marginal aquatic perennial with lance shaped leaves on long stems. Violet flowers in summer on long slender panicles

Height: Up to 6ft

Hardiness: The leaves have not proved to be evergreen and have died back in winter, the plant itself has survived under 1ft of water in a frozen pond.

Propagation: Sow seeds in spring in moist compost 65degF or divide in late spring.

Notes: A plant I did not think would survive, but I'm glad I tried foliage and flowers are spectacular.
