Phormium

Evergreen perennial with either rigid upright linear leaves (P. tenax) or arching linear leaves (P. cookianum) colours range from deep purple to green with several forms of variegations.

Height: Up to 12ft  for P. tenax and 6ft for P. cookianum

Hardiness: This is another one of those plants that ref. books class as slightly tender but I've known specimens make it through the coldest winters without problems.

Propagation: Sow seeds in a propagator in spring 60F
