Melianthus
(honey bush)

Erect shrub with tall stems and spreading leaves blue green in colour.

Height: Up to 6ft or more in a sheltered position

Hardiness: Most books class this plant as tender but with a good mulch I have found it to be fully hardy as long as tender young shoots are protected from hard frosts.

Propagation: Grow from seed in a propagator or soft wood cuttings in late spring.

Notes: Dramatic foliage. Foliage has an odd smell not unpleasant but hardly honey.
